On Thursday, Nagpur marked World Book Day with a vibrant series of events celebrating storytelling in various forms, coinciding with the death and birth anniversaries of William Shakespeare. A key event at Rashtrabhasha Bhavan featured the premiere of 'Beyond the Darkness,' an original English play by Parag Ghonge. The production delved into the journey of a creatively challenged theatre director and a disillusioned actress finding renewed purpose through their stage work.
This theatrical evening also saw the release of two books by Ghonge: 'Andhar Ujalnyasathee' and 'Priya Sakhee.' Concurrently, another gathering at Vidarbha Sahitya Sangh's Granth Sahavas, titled 'Guj-Goshti Chaitra Vaishakh Milanachya,' brought together literary enthusiasts. Guided by library director Swati Moharir, the event used seasonal metaphors of Chaitra and Vaishakh to frame the essence of creative effort and realization.
