The 57th NAACP Image Awards commenced with the announcement of winners in non-televised literary, short-form, and creator categories on Monday. Michelle Obama received an award for outstanding literary work - biography/autobiography for her book, 'The Look,' which details her fashion choices during her tenure as First Lady.
Another significant win went to Kendrick Lamar for outstanding short-form series or special, recognizing his Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show. Filmmaker Will Packer also earned an award for outstanding literary work - instructional, for his self-help book 'Who Better Than You?' released in 2025.
The virtual award ceremonies are hosted by Angel Laketa Moore and Khleo Thomas and will continue through Wednesday. Special honors include the Mildred Bond Roxborough Social Justice Impact Award for Rev. Dr. Jamal-Harrison Bryant and the Vanguard Award for A$AP Rocky. The main televised event, hosted by Deon Cole, airs on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
