Mustafa Zahid Speaks Out on Awarapan 2 Exclusion

Pakistani singer Mustafa Zahid, known for his work on the original 'Awarapan', has publicly addressed his exclusion from the sequel's soundtrack. Speaking at a recent concert in Chicago, Zahid conveyed his disappointment, attributing his absence to "politics around the world" that can cause art to suffer. He expressed gratitude for the immense love and respect he has consistently received from Indian audiences.

In 'Awarapan 2', the iconic song 'Tera Mera Rishta' has been re-recorded by singers Saaj Bhatt and Subodhh Sharma. This musical shift extends beyond Zahid's vocals, as original composer Pritam is also not part of the sequel. The new musical direction for the film features Amaal Mallik and Mithoon as composers. Lyricist Sayeed Quadri acknowledged that such decisions are made by the production house, emphasizing that "the nation should always come first." The film, directed by Nitin Kakkar, stars Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani and was released in cinemas on August 14, 2026. It has achieved significant commercial success, grossing over Rs 55 crore in India within its first two days of release.
