Music Execs Launch By Design, Partner with BMG for Global Expansion
27 Oct
Summary
- New music company By Design partners with BMG for distribution, label services, and co-investments
- By Design's roster includes country singer Frankie Ballard and pop-folk artist Zoe Levert
- Partnership aims to "champion creators" and "share purpose-driven music globally"

In October 2025, a newly launched music company called By Design announced a partnership with global music company BMG. Co-founded by industry veterans Josh Bailey, Jeremy Holley, Rod Riley, and Josh Thompson, By Design is set to leverage BMG's global infrastructure to expand its mission of empowering faith-based creators.
The partnership will include global distribution, label services, joint label signings, and a co-investment strategy that will reach across catalog acquisitions through Archetype Music, By Design's music rights holding company. By Design's current roster features country singer-songwriter Frankie Ballard and pop-folk artist Zoe Levert, among others.
According to BMG's Jon Loba, the alliance with By Design offers "the perfect, complementary" opportunity to enter the growing faith-driven music genre, which he says is "one of the most powerful cultural forces rising today." By Design's Josh Thompson echoed this sentiment, stating the partnership will allow the company to "scale purpose-driven music without compromising values" through BMG's global reach.
The launch of By Design comes as the Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) genre has seen a surge, with two CCM songs recently making simultaneous appearances on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the first time in 11 years.
