Mubi & Madman Unleash Cannes & Berlinale Gems Down Under

Mubi is extending its theatrical reach through a new partnership with Madman Entertainment, an independent Australian and New Zealand distributor. This collaboration will see five films, many of which garnered awards at prestigious festivals like Cannes and Berlinale, receive theatrical releases across the region.

The slate begins with Jane Schoenbrun's "Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma," set to premiere on August 6 in Australia and August 20 in New Zealand. This film, celebrated with the Queer Palm at Cannes, features a notable cast including Hannah Einbinder and Gillian Anderson.

Further highlights include Paweł Pawlikowski's "Fatherland," which earned him the Best Director prize at Cannes, and Lukas Dhont's "Coward," recognized for its Best Actor award at the same festival. Both films underscore the quality of cinema Mubi and Madman are bringing to the region.

Rounding out the selection are two Berlinale entries: Karim Aïnouz's "Rosebush Pruning" and Markus Schleinzer's "Rose." The latter earned Sandra Hüller the Silver Bear for Best Leading Actress, showcasing the diverse and compelling narratives available.
