Vikramaditya Motwane has shared insights into directing his segment for Netflix's Lust Stories 3, highlighting how the caliber of actors Radhika Apte and Konkona Sen Sharma simplified his directorial process. He found that their performances significantly enhanced the material already present in the script.
Motwane elaborated that the actors' talent allowed him to hold shots longer, feeling assured by the quality of their contributions. This level of performance from actors like Apte and Sharma makes a director's job considerably easier, as they bring characters to life with depth and nuance.
The filmmaker also pointed out that his particular story within the anthology addresses aspects of desire, especially concerning older individuals, which he feels are seldom explored in mainstream Indian cinema. He believes this theme is clearly conveyed in his segment.
Addressing potential misunderstandings of his narrative, Motwane stated that he isn't concerned about misinterpretation. He trusts that audiences will comprehend the film's overall intention, humor, and purpose when viewing the complete work, asserting that the story of two women pursuing their genuine wants and aspirations is "perfectly kosher."
