Moseley Folk Fest: 20 Years of Music, Arts & More

The Moseley Folk and Arts Festival is celebrating its twentieth edition this weekend in Birmingham's Moseley Park. Headliners Kingfishr, Super Furry Animals, and The Dead South are scheduled to perform at the event, which has become a staple in the Midlands music calendar since its inception in 2006.

This year's festival is expected to draw 4000 attendees, a significant increase from the approximately 1000 people who attended its inaugural year. Festival organizer John Fell noted the event's evolution to include more food and drink options, workshops, and family areas, alongside its core musical offerings.

Beyond music, the twentieth edition prominently features aspects of comedy, poetry, and wellness. With 60 to 70 acts performing, the festival has expanded significantly from the 29 acts that played its first two-day event in 2006, underscoring its growing legacy.

Despite rising costs impacting smaller festivals, ticket prices remain at £182 for a weekend pass and £69 for a day ticket. Fell emphasizes the festival's commitment to supporting local artists and businesses, showcasing the best of Birmingham to a national audience.
