30 Jun
Summary
- Country star Morgan Wallen displayed Joshua 2:21 on his leg cast.
- The verse symbolizes faith, redemption, and God's protection.
- Wallen intentionally includes religious themes in his music.
Country star Morgan Wallen prominently displayed his Christian faith during a recent concert at Clemson University's Memorial Stadium. He wore a black leg cast featuring the Bible verse reference Joshua 2:21 in white lettering.
Joshua 2:21 is part of the story of Rahab, a woman who hid Israelite spies. In Christian tradition, the verse and its associated scarlet cord symbolize faith, redemption, and divine protection, often seen as foreshadowing Christ's sacrifice.
Wallen, whose parents are a Southern Baptist pastor and an elementary school teacher, has frequently integrated biblical themes into his work. He stated in a 2025 interview that he intentionally includes hints of his faith in his music.
His catalog includes songs with biblical language such as 'I Wrote the Book' and 'Genesis.' In 2024, following Hurricane Helene, Wallen wrote Psalm 40:2 on a storm-damaged home's studs and donated $500,000 to relief efforts in his native East Tennessee.
Wallen has also spoken about leaning on his faith during difficult times, such as the 2018 Borderline Bar & Grill shooting, emphasizing belief in God's control and the importance of moral guidance.
