Morgan Freeman's path to fatherhood was not always straightforward, as he admitted in 2014 that balancing his acting ambitions with family was challenging in his youth.
His eldest son, Alfonso Freeman, born in 1959, was raised primarily by his mother and only met Morgan at 19. Alfonso later followed in his father's footsteps, debuting in "The Shawshank Redemption" and appearing in "The West Wing" and "ER."
Morgana Freeman, born in 1971, graduated from Spelman College and now serves as Chief Vision Officer for his charity, the SonEdna Foundation.
His daughter Deena Adair, adopted by Freeman in 1967, became an accomplished hairstylist, working on several of his films. She had a daughter, E'Dena Hines, who was adopted by Morgan and his second wife. E'Dena became an actress but tragically passed away in 2015 at age 33 after being fatally stabbed.
