Morecambe Bay's Coastal Oasis: Eden Project's Flower Show Debut
21 Oct
Summary
- Eden Project Morecambe to open in 2028
- "Bring Me Sunshine Garden" inspired by Morecambe Bay's landscapes
- Garden created with local youth employment scheme

As the Eden Project celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2025, the organization is set to offer a "first glimpse" of its upcoming Morecambe attraction at the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show. The "Bring Me Sunshine Garden," a nod to the late comedian Eric Morecambe, will showcase the coastal landscapes, seaside heritage, and vibrant communities of Morecambe Bay.
Designed with the help of a local skills and opportunities scheme for young adults, the show garden will feature Austrian pine trees, soft coastal-inspired planting, and textural grasses. Boundary panels crafted from mussel shells and terraces made from cockle shell by-products will add a unique seaside touch.
After the Chelsea Flower Show in May 2025, the garden will be permanently relocated to the Eden Project Morecambe site, where it will become part of a large public garden used as a living classroom and community hub. Construction of the shell-inspired Eden Project Morecambe, a sister site to the original in Cornwall, is set to begin soon, with an opening planned for 2028.
