Mookuthi Amman 2: Nayanthara's Diwali Release Faces Box Office Clash
5 Nov
Summary
- Mookuthi Amman 2 releases on November 6, facing stiff competition.
- Advance collection for the film has surpassed ₹1 crore in India.
- The movie is Nayanthara's fifth release of 2026 and second Tamil film.
Nayanthara's "Mookuthi Amman 2" is scheduled for theatrical release on November 6, coinciding with the Diwali festivities. The film enters a competitive box office landscape, facing releases like Suriya's "Scene" and Ranbir Kapoor's "Ramayana: Part 1." Despite the crowded weekend, "Mookuthi Amman 2," directed by Sundar C, is poised to challenge for audience attention.
Advance ticket sales for "Mookuthi Amman 2" have reached over ₹1 crore in India, with one day remaining until its premiere. The film has secured bookings for 82,925 tickets across 1,869 shows in 664 theaters. While these numbers are considered modest for a Nayanthara starrer, the film's success will likely hinge on positive audience reception and word-of-mouth reviews.
This release marks Nayanthara's fifth film of 2026 and her second Tamil project this year. Her prior release, "Hi," a romantic drama, earned ₹1.25 crore on its opening day. "Mookuthi Amman 2's" advance collection has already surpassed this figure, signaling a potentially stronger performance. The first "Mookuthi Amman," released in 2020, was a fantasy comedy centered on a news anchor exposing a godman's fraud.
