Fans of Gardeners' World presenter Monty Don expressed distress after he shared an image of a stone pathway with his dogs Patti and Ned's names engraved. The post, captioned 'In the threshold of the Doghouse,' led many followers to believe that Patti, his seven-year-old Yorkshire Terrier, had died.
Supporters rushed to express their sorrow, with several asking if Patti had passed away. Other fans quickly clarified that the engraving was a tribute from the previous year and that both Patti and Ned are still alive. They urged Don to post a clarification to alleviate fan worries.
This incident occurred shortly after Don announced the death of his Brittany Spaniel, Peggy, in January. He had previously lost his dogs Nigel in 2020 and Nell in 2023. Don has often spoken about how his dogs have helped him cope with depression and anxiety.
