Zoo Unveils New Entrance at Zoobilation Gala

The Montgomery Zoo will officially open its new $4.2 million main entrance, admissions, and gift shop complex on September 17th during its annual Zoobilation fundraising event. Regular zoo operations will conclude early at noon on this day to facilitate event preparations, with guests resuming use of the new entrance area. Zoobilation, an evening affair for attendees aged 21 and over, will offer sampling from various food and beverage vendors, alongside live music. A digital auction will also be part of the festivities.

This significant fundraising event, hosted by the Montgomery Area Zoological Society, has historically supported major zoo additions. Funds raised from this year's Zoobilation will be allocated to a new reptile exhibit. This exhibit is planned to showcase diverse biomes and feature critically endangered species such as the Indian Gharial and Komodo Dragon. Direct donations for this exhibit are also being accepted online.
