Disney's Hollywood Studios is rapidly transforming the former Muppets Courtyard into a "Monsters, Inc." themed land, dubbed Monstropolis. Imagineers are working closely with Pixar to bring iconic locations from the beloved film to life. Guests will have the opportunity to dine at Harryhausen's restaurant, a spot familiar to fans of Mike Wazowski and Celia Mae.
The Monsters, Inc. factory itself is set to become a key attraction, featuring Disney's inaugural suspended roller coaster within any of its parks. New areas, such as the Glob Theater and various storefronts, are being developed to expand the fictional world beyond what has been seen on screen. This immersive experience is slated for Walt Disney World, with further details on its opening date anticipated.
The narrative of the land invites guests to participate in Monstropolis' first "Humans Understand Monsters Are Nice" day. This event highlights the ongoing learning between humans and monsters, emphasizing that laughter is a powerful force. A Department of Human Relations will also be present to facilitate this cultural exchange, adding a unique storytelling element to the guest experience.
