Filming for the upcoming movie 'Moi Virundhu' recently took place in the scenic locale of Kodaikanal. Key scenes were captured at a printing press and a former hospital that has been transformed into a bank for the production.
The ensemble cast features VJ-turned-actor Rakshan and Ayesha, who are playing a romantic pair. Their characters have been deliberately named Karthik and Revathy, in a nod to the real-life actors. Rakshan, typically known for urban roles, is embracing a playful village boy persona, while Ayesha embodies a bubbly village girl named Revathy working at a printing press.
Veteran actress Archana is also a significant part of the cast, portraying a character named Seetha who is central to a village tradition. She has adopted a unique and unprecedented physical appearance for this role, which she found compelling. The director, CR Manikandan, explained that 'Moi Virundhu' is a practice where a family seeking financial help hosts a feast, and guests offer monetary assistance in return.
Rakshan expressed his excitement about portraying a different kind of character and working with esteemed cinematographer Sukumar. Both he and Ayesha shared positive remarks about the friendly atmosphere on set and the pleasant Kodaikanal climate, describing the shooting location as heavenly.
