The trailer for 'Mohiniyattam,' the upcoming sequel to Saiju Kurup's successful comedy entertainer 'Bharathanatyam,' has significantly amplified anticipation for its release. Directed by Krishnadas Murali, the film's recently unveiled trailer has garnered considerable attention for its humorous nods to the acclaimed thriller 'Drishyam.'
The narrative appears to revolve around a family dealing with the accidental death of an uninvited guest, immediately drawing parallels to the plot of 'Drishyam.' Saiju Kurup's character is depicted strategizing with his family on how to conceal the incident, mirroring the investigative thriller's premise.
'Bharathanatyam' explored themes of family secrets, while 'Mohiniyattam' seems to inject a similar comedic yet serious tone. The film stars Suraj Venjaramoodu, Jagadish, and Vinay Forrt, with the latter potentially playing a police officer. 'Mohiniyattam' is scheduled for a theatrical debut on April 10, preceding 'Drishyam 3's' release on May 21.
