The actor has a history of compelling police portrayals. In one film, his character IG faces a serial killer who murders victims alphabetically and taunts him with letters. Despite some reliance on coincidence, the movie offered an enjoyable investigation thriller.
Another role saw Mohanlal as ACP Hariprasad investigating a serial killer targeting influential men's wives, while simultaneously suspecting his own wife. This film served as a social commentary on morality and modern societal constructs.
A third memorable performance involved Mohanlal going undercover in a school to find a terrorist's child. This investigation thriller also featured comedic elements and an iconic performance by Jagathy Sreekumar.
