Journalist's Advice: Mithun's Warning on Rumors

Lyricist Sameer Anjaan, recalling his early days in Mumbai, shared an uncomfortable interview experience with actor Mithun Chakraborty. Anjaan, who was earning Rs. 500 for bi-weekly celebrity interviews, recounted how Chakraborty reacted strongly when asked about rumors of an affair.

Chakraborty questioned Anjaan's reliance on hearsay and, in turn, mentioned rumors about Anjaan's alleged affair with Sridevi. He advised the young journalist to stick to known facts, noting that rumors are common in the film industry. Anjaan initially rented a room in a chawl for Rs. 15 while working to make ends meet.
