Miss America 2026, Cassie Donegan, passed the crown to Hutsell during the finals. The event was co-hosted by NFL sideline reporter Jennifer Hale and country singer Billy Gilman. The esteemed panel of judges included former U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Regina Benjamin and Miss America 1998 Kate Shindle.
Hutsell's winning performance included a jazz dance routine and successful responses to on-stage questions. Shelby Bordelon of Louisiana was named first runner-up, followed by Kate Dimmett of Illinois as second runner-up. The runners-up received scholarship amounts ranging from $5,000 to $10,000.
