Since 2020, the 84-year-old actor has amassed £570,000 through personalized video messages. This figure far exceeds the £60,000 she received for her role in the Harry Potter movies, where she appeared in two installments.

Margolyes noted that fans are increasingly requesting advice and 'pep talks' through Cameo, rather than simple birthday greetings. While grateful for the platform, she dedicates only a couple of hours daily to it to ensure she has time for living. She also reflected on the unexpected impact of Harry Potter, realizing how the franchise became a part of many people's childhoods, a sentiment she initially struggled to grasp due to her own age during filming.
