Actress Miranda Richardson has built a celebrated career, earning critical acclaim and numerous awards. Richardson is widely recognized for her diverse roles, including IRA member Jude in 'The Crying Game' and Ruth Ellis in 'Dance With a Stranger'. Comedy fans know her as the sharp-tongued Rita Skeeter in 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire' and the memorable Queenie in 'Blackadder II'.
Initially considering veterinary medicine, Richardson trained at the Bristol Old Vic, graduating in 1979. Her breakthrough came in 1985 as Ruth Ellis, the final woman executed in Britain. She later lent her voice talents to 'Chicken Run' and appeared in 'Good Omens', returning as Mrs. Tweedy in 'Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget' in 2023.
Her recent work includes a role in 'The Yellow Tie', a biopic where she portrays the wife of conductor Sergiu Celibidache. Richardson also previously played Queen Mary in 'The Lost Prince' and Queen Victoria's mother in 'The Young Victoria'.
