A first look at the upcoming BBC romantic crime drama, Mint, reveals an eight-part series set to premiere on BBC One and iPlayer this spring.
The drama centers on Shannon, the daughter of a dominant crime family, who falls deeply in love with Arran, a member of a rival gang. Their forbidden romance unfolds against a backdrop of escalating family tensions.
Shannon's home life becomes increasingly volatile as her father, Dylan, mysteriously steps down. His second-in-command, Sam, takes over, but his changing methods raise concerns within the clan.
The series stars Emma Laird as Shannon and newcomer Ben Coyle-Larner as Arran, alongside a notable cast including Sam Riley and Laura Fraser.
Filmed in and around Glasgow last year, Mint is written by Charlotte Regan and produced by Fearless Minds and House Productions.
The story delves into the emotional lives of Shannon's family, including her parents Dylan and Cat, her brother Luke, and her grandmother Ollie, as the family grapples with leadership changes and the consequences of their actions.
