Minka Kelly's Dad: Aerosmith's 80s Guitarist

Minka Kelly is set to star in the second season of the Netflix western drama, Ransom Canyon, which drops eight new episodes on July 23rd. Kelly portrays Quinn O'Grady in the series, described as a blend of Yellowstone's ranch drama and Virgin River's small-town romance. This return to television follows her breakout role in Friday Night Lights two decades ago.

Kelly's father is French-American musician Rick Dufay, known for his role as a guitarist for the iconic rock band Aerosmith during the early 1980s. He replaced Brad Whitford in 1981 and is credited on their 1982 album, 'Rock in a Hard Place'. Though his tenure was brief, Dufay was instrumental in discussions that led to Aerosmith's original members reuniting in 1984.

Despite a complicated past, Kelly has since reconciled with her father and expressed pride in their current relationship. She stated that her father's wisdom has been invaluable in navigating life and the entertainment industry. Rick Dufay, in turn, has spoken of his pride and happiness regarding his daughter's achievements.
