Illumination has unveiled "Minions & Monsters," the newest installment in its wildly successful franchise, set for release on July 1. The film charts the chaotic journey of the beloved Minions as they ascend to Hollywood stardom, only to lose it all and unleash terrifying monsters upon the world.
The narrative follows their subsequent efforts to rectify the mayhem they created and save the planet. The animated adventure promises a mix of humor and action, as seen in early previews featuring the Minions causing a stir on a movie set.
Directed by Academy Award nominee Pierre Coffin, "Minions & Monsters" boasts an impressive voice cast including Allison Janney, Jesse Eisenberg, Zoey Deutch, and Trey Parker. This film expands on the legacy of the "Despicable Me" and "Minions" movies, which have collectively earned over $5.6 billion globally.
The franchise, which began with "Despicable Me," introduced audiences to Gru and his yellow, gibberish-speaking henchmen. The Minions' popularity led to their own spin-off films, solidifying their status as breakout characters in modern animation.
