Mindy Kaling's New Show: End of an Era?

Mindy Kaling has released her new comedy series, "Not Suitable for Work," on Hulu on June 2. This series concludes a trilogy of shows inspired by the early stages of her career, following "Never Have I Ever" and "Sex Lives with College Girls."

The new show centers on five ambitious twenty-somethings navigating their careers in Manhattan. Kaling created and executive produced the series, drawing inspiration from her own experiences in her early twenties when she moved to New York City.

Reflecting on that time, Kaling described it as an 'ambitious' chapter, recalling her desire to achieve success quickly. She now views that period with fondness, quoting "The Office" by saying, "I wish there was a way to know that you're in the good old days before you've actually left them."

Beyond television, Kaling established Mindy's Book Studio in 2022 with Amazon, focusing on publishing captivating stories with diverse characters. She finds immense satisfaction in mentoring and providing opportunities for overlooked actors and authors in the industry.

Kaling also expressed pride in making her immigrant parents proud and cherishes the support of her father and stepmother in raising her children. She holds gratitude for her many blessings, even while missing her late mother.
