Singer Miley Cyrus has disclosed a profound fear of paper, a condition she describes as a debilitating phobia that causes her physical distress. During a recent appearance, she explained her aversion extends to touching and even seeing paper, leading her to embrace digital alternatives like texting and e-readers. This specific fear, known as papyrophobia, is reportedly severe enough that she is considering therapeutic interventions such as EMDR and hypnosis.

Cyrus shared that the fear intensified during childhood road trips where her brothers would intentionally rub paper to distress her. The aversion is particularly strong towards cardboard packaging, prompting her fiancé, Maxx Morando, to handle all deliveries outdoors. She humorously attributed her engagement to Morando as a practical solution for managing her phobia.

Despite her strong aversion, Cyrus can tolerate certain types of paper like rolling papers and waxed varieties, noting that the marriage certificate from her previous marriage had a smoother, waxy texture. For gifts, she now requests they be wrapped in silk instead of paper, preferring silk stockings for smaller items during the holiday season.
