Actor Mihir Ahuja: Math Prodigy Son Finds Mom a Match

Mihir Ahuja, who gained recognition for his role in "The Archies," is now taking center stage in the Amazon Prime series "Maa Ka Sum." The show, released on April 3, centers on a mother-son relationship, with Ahuja portraying a math prodigy. He develops an app using algorithms to help his single mother, played by Mona Singh, find a suitable partner.

Ahuja embraces the challenge of leading a series, likening the "burden on his shoulders" to a positive responsibility. To ensure the accuracy of his character's mathematical prowess, two IIT professors were consulted on set. This series marks his third collaboration with Mona Singh, following "M.O.M (Mission Over Mars)" and "Made in Heaven."

The 28-year-old actor finds "Maa Ka Sum" compelling due to its novel approach to family dynamics, where he, as the son, takes the initiative in matchmaking for his mother. This flips the traditional societal norm of parents setting up their children. Ahuja hopes the show also addresses societal taboos surrounding ageism in relationships, advocating for single mothers to have opportunities for love.

Ahuja's career began at 19, and he is passionate about his craft. He acknowledges the unpredictability of the industry but believes in focusing on one day at a time. Looking ahead, he is set to appear in Netflix's "Operation Safed Sagar," a series based on a 1999 Kargil War mission. Ahuja aspires to be known as a versatile actor, appreciating the chance to portray varied roles.
