Michelle Collins, the actress behind EastEnders' notorious Cindy Beale, recently discussed her character's sensational comeback. Appearing on ITV's Lorraine, Collins reflected on Cindy's return from a presumed death in 2023, nearly four decades after her initial debut. Currently, Cindy is central to a dramatic marriage proposal storyline involving Max Branning. Collins expressed her enjoyment of playing the unpredictable Cindy, musing that the potential union could be "complete and utter heaven or a marriage made in hell!"

The current EastEnders narrative, she noted, is "very clever" as it significantly impacts numerous characters within the soap's fictional world. Collins praised the show's writing and cast, asserting that the series is currently in a "really good place." Beyond her soap opera role, the 64-year-old actress also highlighted her solo theatrical venture, 'Motorhome Marilyn.' This production, which premiered at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe last year, is based on a personal experience and features Collins as Denise, a woman working as a Marilyn Monroe impersonator while confronting themes of aging and unfulfilled aspirations. Collins found performing solo and producing the show incredibly challenging, especially while filming EastEnders concurrently.
