In a major casting coup, acclaimed actor Michael C. Hall has joined the cast of the upcoming espionage thriller 'Stratagem'. He will star alongside Noomi Rapace and Teo Yoo in the film, which is set to begin production at the start of 2026.
Directed by novelist-turned-filmmaker Michael Idov, 'Stratagem' follows CIA agent Stella Turner (Rapace) as she goes undercover at an elite cybersecurity summit in the Swiss Alps. Her mission is to seduce and recruit a brilliant but mysterious tech prodigy named Daniel Sim (Yoo), whose expertise may be the key to preventing a devastating leak of U.S. defense secrets. However, as their dangerous cat-and-mouse game unfolds, Stella discovers that Daniel has his own hidden agenda, leading to a high-stakes battle of intellect, desire and survival on a global scale.
The screenplay for 'Stratagem' was written by Michael Idov and his wife Lily Idov, the acclaimed writing duo behind the German spy series 'Deutschland 89' and the recent Cannes title 'Leto'. The film is being produced by Oscar-nominee David Lancaster and Matt Leipzig.
With Hall's casting, the project has assembled an impressive ensemble. The actor is best known for his acclaimed performances in hit shows like 'Dexter' and 'Six Feet Under', for which he has earned numerous accolades including a Golden Globe and three SAG Awards. His involvement is sure to generate significant buzz for 'Stratagem' as it gears up for its 2026 release.
