Mia Goth's Forgotten Thriller Returns to Free Streaming

The minimalist post-apocalyptic thriller 'The Survivalist,' starring Mia Goth, is set to be available on free streaming next month. Premiering in 2015, the film features Goth as Milja, a young woman navigating a world ravaged by a global population collapse. Despite its limited theatrical release, the movie secured Goth a British Independent Film Award nomination for Most Promising Newcomer.

The plot follows a solitary man known as 'the Survivalist' whose isolated existence is disrupted by the arrival of a starving woman and her daughter, Milja. Forced to trade her for necessities, the Survivalist's life becomes entangled with the newcomers, leading to shifting loyalties and fragile coexistence. The film, noted for its scarce dialogue and moments of intense violence, holds a 96% Certified Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Currently accessible via paywall on AMC+ in the United States, 'The Survivalist' will join Tubi's library of free movies on August 1. This marks an opportunity for audiences to watch one of Goth's significant early performances. Goth can also be seen in Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey' and is slated for 'Star Wars: Starfighter' in 2027.
