BFFs Craft Giddy EDM Inspired by Online Worlds & Blackouts

Electroclash duo MGNA Crrrta, featuring Ginger Scott and Farheen Khan, originated from an 11-year-old friendship forged on a Minecraft Hunger Games roleplay server. Their unique sound merges giddy EDM with brainrot electroclash, channeling inspirations from online culture and vivid life experiences.

The mixtape 'Beautiful Disaster' captures the ecstatic and all-consuming essence of their shared digital beginnings. Tracks like 'Armageddon / Seventh Heaven' feature heavily distorted vocals, while '4me?' uses a compressed vocal over electronic beats.

Songs such as "BFF" celebrate internet friendships with high-octane energy, mirroring late-night video calls. "Infinite Pleasure" references their gaming past, tenderly describing a deep connection akin to wedding vows.

Other tracks delve into themes of navigating nightlife, with lyrics evoking club chatter over driving EDM beats. The duo champions a philosophy of embracing freedom and pleasure, suggesting that "bad girls go wherever they want."

While the mixtape's first half excels, its latter half is less impactful. Tracks like "I'm on a Saucer II" lack the distinctive attitude of their other work, and the final songs, "Gimme it all" and "if u dare 2," feel repetitive and subdued. The mixtape ultimately prioritizes enjoyment over sustained thematic depth.
