Konami has announced the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2, bringing Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots to newer consoles. This marks the first time MGS4, originally released in 2008 for the PS3, has been remastered or re-released. The collection is set for release on August 27th and is available for pre-order at $50.
In addition to MGS4, the bundle includes Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and the unique Metal Gear: Ghost Babel, a Game Boy Color title. Accompanying these games are digital screenplay and master books, along with a soundtrack. While currently confirmed for PS5, the collection may later release on PC and Xbox Series X|S.
The remasters promise enhanced resolutions, improved frame rates, and updated controls, with potential for other quality-of-life upgrades. Metal Gear Solid 4 concludes Solid Snake's story by ending the reign of the mysterious Patriots, while Peace Walker follows Big Boss's creation of his own military faction in Colombia.
