Hollywood Ventures Group (HVG) is set to adapt a powerful memoir into a film, with co-founder Glenn Gainor leading development discussions. The book chronicles the author's harrowing journey, beginning with over a decade of domestic abuse in Bangalore, India. A near-fatal attack by her husband served as the catalyst for her escape.
She relocated to France to pursue an MBA, establishing her own wine label in Bordeaux while working to bring her daughter from India to join her. Gainor described the subject as a "very powerful woman, a very strong person, a person of conviction and a beautiful moral compass."
Gainor brings extensive experience from his time at Screen Gems and producing for Happy Madison and Amazon MGM productions. HVG, co-founded by Sandy Climan, focuses on impact-driven projects. The company has not yet decided on the production's format, exploring options for a local-language production, an international film, or a platform title.
