Melissa Rycroft, known for her appearances on The Bachelor and Dancing With the Stars, is seeking help following her second suspected DUI arrest within a year. The incident occurred on November 1 in Southlake, Texas, leading to her arrest by the Southlake Police Department and detainment at the Tarrant County Corrections Center. She was charged with second-degree driving while intoxicated, driving with a prior conviction or suspension without financial responsibility, and collision causing damage to a vehicle greater than or equal to $200.
In an emotional Instagram post, Rycroft expressed deep shame and embarrassment, admitting she has been struggling with her mental health for an extended period. She stated that her struggles had become overwhelming, despite her attempts to hide them. Rycroft vowed to overcome these challenges, admitting she needs help and can no longer fight them alone. She confirmed she is receiving professional care, aiming to feel like herself again for her family.
This arrest follows a previous DUI arrest in September 2025, for which Rycroft pleaded guilty in August and received a 280-day jail sentence, suspended for 20 months of probation. She was also fined $2,000, plus additional court and trauma fees totaling $2,087. Her attorney, Bret Martin, emphasized the presumption of innocence and urged for the legal process to unfold before judgment.
Rycroft, a former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, appeared on season 13 of The Bachelor and won the inaugural all-star season of Dancing With the Stars in 2012 with partner Tony Dovolani. She has been married to Tye Strickland since 2009, and they have three children.
