In a surprising move, Meghan Markle is set to make a comeback in the entertainment industry. The 44-year-old Duchess of Sussex has reportedly landed a role in the upcoming film "Close Personal Friends," co-starring alongside Lily Collins, Brie Larson, Jack Quaid, and Henry Golding.
Meghan was spotted on the Pasadena, California set last month, where she is said to be playing a small part as herself. This marks her first acting role since announcing her retirement from the business in 2017, shortly after her engagement to Prince Harry.
At the time, Meghan had been focusing on transitioning into her new role as a senior working royal, fulfilling duties on behalf of the late Queen Elizabeth II. However, she and Harry stepped back from their royal responsibilities in 2020 and relocated to California.
Now, it seems Meghan is gently dipping her toe back into the entertainment world. According to sources, the duchess has been "swamped with offers" but felt this particular project "felt right." The insider added that Meghan's cameo is a "massive moment" for her and "signifies a return to doing what she truly loves."
Meghan's husband, Prince Harry, is reportedly "really supportive" of her decision to return to acting. The couple, who share two children, have continued their charity work since moving to the US.
