Meghan & Jessica: Friendship Status Update

Ben Mulroney, 49, offered a rare update on the friendship between his wife, Jessica Mulroney, and Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex.

Speaking on the Can't Be Censored podcast on January 28, 2026, Ben stated that while he wouldn't speak for Jessica, from his understanding, the two are "on positive terms."

Meghan, 44, and Jessica, 45, were close friends for years, frequently appearing on each other's social media and traveling together. Jessica, a stylist, was instrumental in selecting Meghan's wardrobe for her role on Suits, filmed in Toronto, and reportedly assisted with her royal wardrobe.

Personal footage from the 2022 Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan revealed Meghan excitedly calling Jessica in 2017 as Prince Harry was about to propose. The Mulroney children notably served in the 2018 royal wedding bridal party.

A reported falling out occurred in June 2020 after Canadian influencer Sasha Exeter accused Jessica of exhibiting 'textbook white privilege' following a Black Lives Matter call to action. This controversy led to Jessica's TV show being pulled by CTV and her stepping away from professional engagements.

In September 2020, Jessica posted on Instagram Stories, which were later deleted, asserting that Meghan had been checking in daily and that tabloid culture was creating false narratives.

Publicly, the friendship appears to have cooled, as Jessica was not featured on Meghan's lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan. In July, reports emerged that Jessica and Ben Mulroney had separated after 16 years of marriage.
