The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently visited Bondi Beach in Sydney to meet survivors and emergency responders from a tragic December shooting incident. During the attack, 15 people were killed and 40 were injured at a Hanukkah event. The couple spoke with volunteer lifeguards and community leaders, including survivors who heroically shielded their children. Representatives from the Sydney Jewish Museum also attended and found the visit "really special."
Following their impactful visit to Bondi, the Duke and Duchess proceeded to the Sydney Opera House. There, they were greeted by hundreds of fans before boarding a boat for a sailing event. This event was hosted by Invictus Australia, an organization founded by Prince Harry in 2014 for wounded military veterans. This marks the couple's first trip to Australia since 2018, undertaken in a private capacity as they are no longer working royals.
