From TV-Free Childhood to Sundance Hitmaker

Megan Park, who grew up in a TV-free home in Lindsay, Ontario, has successfully transitioned from acting to filmmaking. She is now recognized as an exciting writer-director, with two films, 'The Fallout' and 'My Old Ass,' to her credit. Her debut series, 'Sterling Point,' premiered on August 5 and quickly reached number 1 on Amazon Prime.

The eight-part series 'Sterling Point' follows a 17-year-old who inherits an island in Canada, uncovering family secrets. The inspiration for the series came from Park's own family, as her mother was adopted. Park aimed to create authentic content for young people, focusing on themes of family and sisterhood.

Park's directing journey began after acting in 'The Secret Life of the American Teenager.' An encouraging conversation with Zoe Kazan prompted her to start writing. Her early directorial work includes short films and music videos, leading to projects like 'The Fallout' and 'My Old Ass,' with the latter produced by Margot Robbie's LuckyChap Entertainment.

Park's upcoming feature film, 'Die Alive,' starring Zoë Kravitz, is set to begin shooting later this year in New York. The film is described as exploring themes of parenthood and loss, marking a pivot from the YA genre that has become a notable part of her career.
