Filmmaker's Lair: Gold, Greed, and a Son's Secret

Parmeshwar Khanna, a once-prominent filmmaker, now lives as a recluse in a derelict cinema with his son, Vasu. Shattered by his wife's betrayal, Parmeshwar maintains a strained relationship with Vasu, who dreams of world travel. Their isolated existence is complicated by whispers of 40 kilos of gold hidden on the property. Vasu's innocent mention of the gold to his acquaintances, Zeenat and Ravrana, unleashes a day of escalating tension. These 'friends' reveal themselves to be gold seekers, setting the stage for a dramatic confrontation over 24 hours. The narrative unfolds to expose human avarice, the complex dynamic between a father and son, and a profound personal secret Parmeshwar has harbored. Director Rahi Anil Barve's film, while featuring strong performances from Jaaved Jafferi and Mohammed Samad, is criticized for its indulgent execution and illogical plot points.
