Maury Povich Declined Kimmel's Sketch Role

Talk show icon Maury Povich recently shared that he declined an invitation to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live to spoof himself. Povich recalled a specific 2017 sketch where Jimmy Kimmel wanted him to reveal the paternity results in a segment involving Matt Damon. However, due to an unspecified conflict, Povich was unable to participate.

Instead, Saturday Night Live alum Martin Short portrayed Povich in the humorous sketch titled "The Unborn Identity." The skit played on Kimmel and Damon's playful feud, with Short's Povich ultimately revealing Tracy Morgan as the father of Kimmel's unborn child. Povich also commented on the numerous spoofs of his show, noting he often sees them unexpectedly.

Beyond late-night spoofs, Povich expressed surprise at his broad recognition, recounting an encounter with rapper 50 Cent. He also shared his thoughts on the challenges facing current talk show hosts amidst what he described as a "censorious political regime."
