Maurice Benard, known for his role as Sonny Corinthos on General Hospital, is set to officiate his daughter Cassidy's wedding to Anthony Cammarata on Friday, October 16th. The 63-year-old actor expressed significant nerves about the event, sharing on Instagram that his apprehension stems from the anticipated emotional toll of the ceremony.

Benard elaborated that he is 'terrified' because he expects to cry frequently while performing his duties as officiant. Fans offered support, with some suggesting he keep tissues handy. This emotional role is one Benard has fulfilled before; he officiated his elder daughter Cailey's wedding in 2020, a moment he later described as a "very very sweet" honor.

Cassidy's engagement was announced in April 2025, following a proposal from Cammarata during a trip to Japan and Disneyland. Benard, who also shares daughter Cailey and son Joshua with wife Paula Smith, legally adopted Smith's sister Heather in 2008.
