Summary
- New Netflix docuseries explores Matthew Perry's life.
- Sister Mia Perry Bowick shares intimate perspectives in the series.
- Rare 2009 interview footage is featured in the docuseries.

A new three-episode docuseries, "The One About Matthew Perry," has arrived on Netflix, offering a fresh perspective on the life of the beloved actor three years after his death. Director Mary Robertson intentionally chose not to use voiceover from Perry's memoir, instead focusing on the stories of those who knew him best.
Central to the series are interviews with Perry's sister, Mia Perry Bowick, who shared her brother's point of view on stories also recounted by others. Robertson noted the deep intimacy and connection present in Bowick's contributions. The docuseries also includes perspectives from friends Roger Castillo and David Pressman, as well as former NBC president Warren Littlefield.
While Perry's "Friends" co-stars do not appear in the docuseries, reportedly to avoid reliving grief, their presence at his funeral is discussed. However, rare footage from a 2009 interview on "Kevin Pollack's Chat Show" is included, allowing Perry to narrate his own story, providing a nuanced portrait distinct from his memoir.
