Soap actor Matthew James-Bailey is fulfilling a lifelong ambition by joining the cast of EastEnders this summer. The 31-year-old, previously seen in Hollyoaks, will portray Detective Constable Craig Ingram.
DC Ingram is set to join Walford's police force, stepping in to help manage the duties of Detective Inspector Jack Branning. Branning has been finding it challenging to balance his professional responsibilities with his personal life, especially with his wife Denise Fox undergoing treatment for acute myeloid leukaemia.
James-Bailey expressed his excitement, calling it a 'dream come true' to be part of the iconic British soap. Executive producer Ben Wadey confirmed that Ingram's presence is integral to a developing storyline focusing on the Branning family throughout the summer months.
