Matthew Broome, recognized at the Monte-Carlo TV Festival, has spoken about the challenges of adapting the popular "Culpables" franchise for a UK audience. He admitted to feeling significant pressure, especially after the original Spanish films garnered a massive following on Prime Video.
Broome recalled initial negative reactions to the announcement of the English-language remake, "My Fault: London." He stated that the team aimed to prove their capabilities once the full film was released, and they were met with a positive reception. This success paved the way for two sequels, "Your Fault: London" and "Our Fault: London," which were filmed back-to-back.
The actor highlighted the character development in the sequel, "Your Fault: London," noting that a year into the relationship, the characters have undergone substantial changes. The "Culpables" series, including the UK adaptations, is based on Mercedes Ron's novels, which first gained traction on Wattpad. While Ron has penned a fourth book, "Culpa Vuestra," there is no confirmation yet regarding its adaptation into a film.
