On November 20, 2025, Sky will premiere the highly anticipated limited series "The Death of Bunny Munro," based on the 2009 novel of the same name by acclaimed musician and author Nick Cave. The six-part drama stars Matt Smith as the titular character, a self-professed lothario who finds himself unexpectedly saddled with the care of his young son, Bunny Junior, after the suicide of his wife.
Reeling from the tragedy, the two embark on an increasingly out-of-control road trip across southern England, as they grapple with their overwhelming grief and attempt to forge a new path forward. The series, written by BAFTA-winning scribe Pete Jackson and directed by Isabella Eklöf, promises to be a poignant and darkly comedic exploration of the human condition in the face of profound loss.
Executive produced by Cave and Smith, "The Death of Bunny Munro" is a co-production between Baby Reindeer and Clerkenwell Films in association with Sky Studios. The series aims to captivate audiences with its raw, emotional storytelling and Smith's powerful performance as a man forced to confront the consequences of his past actions.
