Matlock Star Hires Kardashian's Lawyer After Sudden Firing Amid Assault Claims
6 Nov
Summary
- Actor David Del Rio fired from CBS drama Matlock
- Hired Shawn Holley, lawyer for Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber
- Allegations of sexual assault by co-star Leah Lewis

In a surprising turn of events, actor David Del Rio, 38, has retained the services of renowned attorney Shawn Holley, 63, in the aftermath of his abrupt dismissal from the CBS legal drama Matlock. The decision comes several weeks after Del Rio was fired from the show following an investigation into sexual assault allegations made by his co-star, Leah Lewis, 28.
The alleged incident involving Del Rio and Lewis took place towards the end of September. When Lewis reported the matter to CBS just days later, the network acted swiftly, terminating Del Rio's contract and escorting him off the set. While Del Rio has remained silent on the issue, Lewis spoke out on Instagram last month, stating that she is "in good hands" and moving forward "in love and strength."
Holley, who has represented high-profile clients such as Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber, and Lindsay Lohan, is now tasked with handling Del Rio's case. The second season of Matlock premiered on October 12, and Del Rio's character, Billy, was expected to be written off in the latter half of the season.
