Rising star Mason Thames is set to captivate audiences with two distinct comedy films releasing in August 2026. "Nimrods," hitting theaters on August 14, follows two high schoolers on a cross-country trip to see Green Day, drawing inspiration from the band's early touring experiences. "Idiots," scheduled for release on August 28, centers on two individuals tasked with transporting a troubled teen to a rehabilitation facility.
Interestingly, both films coincidentally share synonymous titles, a humorous outcome that Thames himself found amusing. Originally titled "New Year's Rev" and "Shitheads" respectively, the titles were changed during production. A notable connection between the films is the recurring cast, with Thames reuniting with Mckenna Grace in "Nimrods" and co-starring with Dave Franco in "Idiots," both actors having appeared with him in "Regretting You."
