Mýa described the eight-year hiatus as a period of learning and commitment, releasing 16 singles in between albums. She recently released "Just a Little Bit" featuring Too $hort, the latest single from 'Retrospect,' following the lead single "ASAP." The album blends contemporary vibes with influences from '70s and '80s R&B, soul, and funk, featuring collaborations with Snoop Dogg, D-Nice, Joyner Lucas, and 21 Savage.
The singer-songwriter is preparing to develop her live show for 'Retrospect,' with plans to tour this fall. Reflecting on her journey since 1998, Mýa calls her younger self determined and her current self resilient, embracing the challenges and joys of the evolving independent music landscape.
