The season 2 premiere of Marshals, airing on Sunday, October 4, 2026, immediately addressed the fate of Kayce and his son Tate. Tom Weaver had taken Tate, intending to kill both father and son to seize Kayce's land. Kayce, accompanied by Dolly, agreed to meet Tom in Wyoming to exchange his property for Tate's safe return.
Upon arrival at Tom's ranch, Kayce was ambushed. However, with the surprise assistance of his Marshals teammates, Kayce eliminated Tom's armed men and rescued Tate. The confrontation escalated to Tom, who attempted to flee with Dolly. Kayce pursued, and Tom's vehicle crashed down a mountain.
Dolly tragically died in the crash, while Tom survived. Instead of killing Tom, Kayce opted to let him live with the guilt of Dolly's death. Kayce later reflected on Dolly's fate, noting her inability to break away from family. The episode concluded with Kayce and Tate returning to East Camp, where Kayce found a cracked photo of Tate and Monica, bringing him to tears.
