This female-led drama chronicles the lives of three Ivorian women living together in Tunis, marking Sehiri's second feature film after "Under the Fig Trees."
"Promised Sky" also garnered acclaim for its cast, with Deborah Lobe Naney receiving the Best Actress award for her compelling performance as a young mother. The film's success was celebrated amidst a competition featuring 13 other first and second features judged by a distinguished jury. Other accolades included the Jury Prize awarded to two separate films and the Best Directing award.
The festival, which ran from November 28 to December 6, celebrated cinematic achievements with tribute awards and industry events. It also saw a significant turnout, with over 47,000 spectators attending screenings, including a substantial number of young audiences, highlighting the festival's broad appeal and commitment to nurturing future film enthusiasts.
